TeachNet Ireland’s goal since it was eastablished in 2001 was to encourage Irish teachers at both primary and second levels to develop and publish quality indigenous curriculum content on the World Wide Web, by providing a supportive network, funding and teacher professional development opportunities. These projects are teacher created to meet the needs of their students and the Irish curriculum.

In each subject there are three main categories of resources listed. These are:
- TeachNet Resources: Resource websites created by teachers for teachers in the TeachNet Ireland Project.
- International TeachNet: Resources created by TeachNet US and TeachNet UK and appropriate to the Irish curriculum.
- Recommended Links: Links to resources recommended by TeachNet teachers with an emphasis on teacher created resources relevant to the Irish curriculum.
