TeachNet Partners

Citi Foundation

The Citi Foundation is the predominant funder of TeachNet Ireland and has funded the project since its inception. Citi's legacy of innovation and achievement is nearly 200 years old. Over the years, it has succeeded because its leaders and its people take a long-term approach to their business. Like Citi, the Citi Foundation takes that same approach when it comes to its philanthropy.

The Citi Foundation believes all children should have access to a high-quality education that helps them acquire the knowledge and skills to find a rewarding career, manage their lives, and fully participate in society. Enhancing educational opportunities will better prepare the next generation for personal and professional success.

Microsoft Ireland

Microsoft provides funding to TeachNet through the Partners in Learning program.  Under Partners in Learning, Microsoft is partnering with Government, Ministries of Education, and other key stakeholders to offer a spectrum of education resources—tools, programs, and practices—to empower students and teachers to realize their full potential. The fundamental premise of this vision is that technology in education can be a powerful catalyst to promote learning and that education changes lives, families, communities and ultimately nations.

TeachNet is working in partnership with Microsoft Ireland in delivering their Innovative Teacher Project. This strengthens the overall TeachNet project as it further develops our graduated model of supporting teachers in using ICT in their daily classroom practice.

St Patrick's College

TeachNet Ireland is a project of St Patrick's College, Drumcondra. St Pat’s is the largest College of Education in Ireland with over 2,000 students taking courses in education and Humanities at undergraduate and postgraduate level. Since 1993, the College has been a College of Dublin City University and all courses are accredited by the University.

Teachers Network is a US based, non-profit education organisation that identifies and connects innovative teachers exemplifying professionalism and creativity within public school systems. Over 40,000 public school teachers have received Teachers Network grants and fellowships in the areas of curriculum, leadership, policy, and new media. Teachers Network provides ongoing advice and assistance to the TeachNet Ireland project.

Curriculum Support

TeachNet works closely with the NCCA and other relevant support teams to define content gaps and to develop units to meet this need. TeachNet provides a framework for the design and development of quality online resources to support the various DES curriculum support programmes (e.g. Junior Science Support Service, PCSP), while the support programmes assist in the validation of teacher produced resources. TeachNet aims to provide content from teachers across all areas of the curriculum.
