This web resource is designed to highlight religious themes in Leaving Certificate English poetry.

It is also intended as a resource for students of religion in Transition Year - a way to approach these poems and poets from a different angle, and perhaps as part of a broader study of religion and the arts.

There is a short biography of each poet, a commentary on each poem, an indication as to which poems are prescribed for which years and at what level, and links to web resources for further study. For each poem there is a suggested assignment - students are welcome to undertake these assignments and send them by email using the contact link at the top of each page. They will be returned with comments as soon as possible.
