Introduction

At the beginning of the twentieth century, 70% of Irish people lived in the country side and 30% lived in cities and towns. Thatched cottages were popular in the countryside and Georgian houses in the cities. Many of the houses that existed in the early twentieth century still remain. Many styles of houses are popular today i.e 2 storey, dormer and bungalow.
