Overview

The program tries to teach the sometimes difficult concepts of electricity in a manner that all students should be able to relate to. The program tries to teach the electricity in the home section in an interesting and stimulating fashion. The program is of specific interest to students who are interested in a career as an electrician. The program includes the theory behind the wiring of a house and this is reinforced with digital stills and a video of a house being wired. The program also includes an interactive problem solving simulation where students are required to solve common household electrical problems.

Curriculum Addressed

This program covers the practical electricity section of the Leaving certificate syllabus. Aspects include: current electricity; somestic circuits; dangers of electricity; safety devices in the home.

Objectives

The most innovative area is the interactive problem solving section in the study of the house of physics.
