LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES:
We
envisage that this webquest would be suitable for a fourth class. However
before completing this webquest is attempted it would be helpful if the
class had read Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, if not more of
the books in the saga by J.K. Rowling. A lot of the webquest's content
is based on this presumption.
This webquest
will take a total of four weeks for each to complete. This will give each
student the opportunity to visit each four houses and complete all of the
tasks associated with each.
The webquest
covers three subject areas of the curriculum:
In the English

creative writing. This area also enhances their reading potential as reading
activities are also carried out. Harry Potter is a literary phenomenon
and the learning opportunities that accompany it should not go unnoticed.
The computer

Through the use of this tool and J.K. Rowling's masterpiece endless learning
opportunities are presented to teachers and children alike. In this webquest
the children practice their typing skills through the English activity.
The web is used in a discovery on birds thus develooing the children's
